NgRx is the most popular state management library for Angular applications, implementing the Redux pattern with RxJS observables for reactive state handling.

Core NgRx concepts:
- Store: Single source of truth for application state
- Actions: Events that describe state changes
- Reducers: Pure functions that handle state transitions
- Selectors: Functions to query and derive data from the store
- Effects: Handle side effects like API calls

Setting up NgRx:
1. Install @ngrx/store, @ngrx/effects, and @ngrx/store-devtools
2. Define your state interface and initial state
3. Create actions using createAction and props
4. Write reducers with createReducer and on handlers
5. Register the store in your app module

NgRx Effects:
- Handle asynchronous operations outside of components
- Listen for specific actions and dispatch new actions
- Perfect for API calls, navigation, and logging
- Use createEffect with RxJS operators
- Can be dispatching or non-dispatching effects

NgRx Selectors:
- createSelector for composable, memoized selectors
- Select derived data efficiently
- Prevent unnecessary re-renders
- Feature selectors for modular state access

NgRx Entity:
- Simplifies CRUD operations on collections
- Provides adapters for common entity operations
- Automatic ID-based entity management
- Built-in sorting and filtering

Best practices:
- Keep state normalized and flat
- Use facade services to abstract store interactions
- Leverage NgRx DevTools for debugging
- Write actions as events, not commands

NgRx can feel overwhelming at first with all the boilerplate, but once you understand the flow of actions, reducers, effects, and selectors, it makes complex state management predictable. I suggest using createFeature() introduced in recent NgRx versions to reduce boilerplate significantly. Also, NgRx ComponentStore is a great lightweight alternative for component-level state.
