Year 3 — The launch year (Sem 5-6)
The single highest-leverage year. Placement prep in earnest: DSA volume up, aptitude begun, core subjects (OS/DBMS/CN) learned for keeps — they’re both interview and GATE fuel. The summer internship hunt: structured programmes, platforms, research routes — decided by year-3 summer. Decisions opened: the higher-studies-vs-job framework gets its first serious run; GATE-vs-placement pondered before registration season.
Year 4 — Harvest (Sem 7-8)
Aug-Sep: resume finalised, season entered at full readiness, exam registrations (GATE/CAT/MS tests) per your chosen door. Through the year: drives worked professionally (the mechanics, the cell), the final project built as a hiring asset, offers read properly (the terms). Exit clean: arrears cleared (why it matters), documents organised (digitally too).
